How to Decorate With LED Lights

LED lights are used in a variety of instances as a whimsical lighting design. Movie theaters use LED lights to light the walkways of the theaters, and homeowners hang LED Christmas lights outside their homes to celebrate the holiday season. Versatile and easy to arrange, LED lights make a great option for your party and holiday decorations. Be creative with your LED design styles choosing both individual and rope lights to accentuate the style of your event.

Things You'll Need

  • Rope lights
  • 100 Individual LED lights
  • Black balloons
  • Metallic string
  • Helium machine

  1. Party

    • 1
      Dim the lights in your party venue. Insert six individual LED lights into a black party balloon.

      Fill balloons with helium and tie a knot using a metallic string. Hang balloons along the walkway to your party or in the corners of your party room.

      Place white LED lights underneath serving platters of food so that a faint glow is emitted from beneath the food trays

      Measure your windows using a tape measure. Next, select a LED rope lighting kit with the appropriate for the measurements of your windows.

      Test the rope through the clips in the lighting kit to ensure they are an accurate fit. Nail the clips into the wood frame of your window leaving room on one side to insert the LED lighting. Be sure to nail clips close together so that the rope does not hang loosely around your window.

      Hang icicles, floating hearts or spooky ghosts (according to the season) along the interior of your window to create a festive accent to your lighting design. Use black electrical tape to cover the rope light "tail" so that the rope is not visible beyond the window.
